Residency During COVID-19

UBC has released a thorough FAQ regarding residents during COVID-19. We have also released a short FAQ drawing information from UBC and HEABC, including information on leave and pay during self-quarantine or illness. We also have a page of wellness resources available to you, such as restaurants offering discounts, online grocery stores, etc., that you can use during this time. Please rest assured that our staff is involved in daily provincial meetings to discuss your questions, concerns, and to continue advocating for you during this time. If you have any questions, please contact our office.

Regular RDBC Updates

To ensure our membership is kept up to date with new information and policies coming out in the context of COVID-19, we have begun sending out regular email communications. This has resulted in an uptick of emails being sent out by us, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to get you timely updates on how your residency can and may be affected. If you are not interested in receiving these updates, we encourage you to ignore the emails but remain subscribed to ensure you continue to receive important emails as they pertain to your residency. If you are concerned that you have missed an email, or are interested in seeing the communications thus far, you can visit our website to see a record of all COVID-19 related communications to date.

RDBC Awards of Excellence, PULSE & Resident Innovation Fund Delayed

In light of COVID-19, our RDBC initiatives at this time have been delayed until further notice. This includes the 2019 Awards of Excellence, the March 2020 edition of the PULSE, and the 2019 Resident Innovation Fund. Our resident committees are dedicated to their residency during this difficult time, and the committees will reconvene at the earliest possible time. We apologize to the those who have nominated others for the Awards, and their nominees; to the contributors and readers of the PULSE; and the applicants to the Innovation Fund. We appreciate your understanding of this decision, and want to reassure you that these projects are merely on hold.
