Economic Stability Dividend
To supplement the salary increases that were gained during the last round of bargaining, we also negotiated for a GDP tie-in via the Economic Stability Dividend (MOA Section 3).
We are pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, residents will be able to take advantage of the dividend. Effective the first pay period after February 1, 2017, residents will receive an additional 0.35% increase over the pre-scheduled 1.0% general wage increase. A further general increase of 0.5% will take effect after April 1, 2017.
Board of Directors By-Election Result
Congratulations to Dr. Jesse Kancir, who was elected to join our Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2017. We thank everyone who participated, either by putting forward a nomination or voting. The Director who will fill the role of Director of Communications will be determined internally at the January 11, 2017 board meeting.
