Voting is now open for the Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) Board of Directors!

Resident Doctors of Canada (formerly known as the Canadian Association of Internes and Residents or CAIR) is a vibrant national organization uniting, promoting and serving over 9, 000 resident doctors across Canada.
Through its Board of Directors, Resident Doctors (or RDoC) provides a unique opportunity for you to represent the interests of residents across Canada and help shape the environment in which you work and train.
Any candidate for the Board must be an RDoC member in good standing.
RDoC seeks candidates with any of the following attributes:

  • Governance skills (previously served with other organizations as a board member or executive member, (e.g., Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer, Committee Chair, etc.)
  • Management skills (previous experience in policy, advocacy, medical education, professionalism, communications, well-being)
  • From all specialties (Family Medicine and all Royal College specialties)
  • Previous RDoC representation as a liaison representative or a Committee/Working Group member
  • Specific skills in finance, legal issues, strategic planning, human resources, leadership, IT

The RDoC Board of Directors will meet face to face usually 4 times a year.

Please note that the dates and locations of the meetings may be subject to change:

  • Annual General Meeting/Board of Directors Meeting on June 13-14, 2015, Toronto, Ontario
  • Board of Directors Meetings in August 2015, November 2015, and February 2016, to be held in Ottawa and a June 2016 meeting, location to be confirmed.

In addition, there will be Board teleconferences held or emails distributed between the face-to-face meetings to address key issues in a timely fashion. Board members are expected to attend all in-person and telecommunications-based Board meetings.
Elected RDoC Board members serve for a one year term. Board members may stand for re-election for additional terms to the Board, provided that they remain an RDoC member in good standing, and meets the performance/job
description expectations for serving as an RDoC Board member.

Resident Doctors of BC has three positions on the Board of Directors at Resident Doctors of Canada. One position is reserved for the President, but the other two are open to all members. Please select from the four available candidates the two you feel will best represent your interests at the national level. Balllots have been emailed individually to members. If you have not received a ballot, please contact Resident Doctors of BC to confirm your email address.

Please note ballots are tied to the email address ballots are sent to, so the link will only allow one vote. If you have any questions regarding the ballot, please contact Resident Doctors of BC before completing the ballot, as you cannot change your ballot once you have voted.

Voting closes at noon on May 4th, 2015
