REAP offers a Specialty Training Bursary to medical specialty residents enrolled in a Canadian Specialty Training Program. Applicants must be in their final two years of residency and have been accepted to a position by a specialty department of a hospital in an RSA community in British Columbia (see list) once they have completed their residency program. The bursary is $25,000/year to a maximum of two years. There is a return of service agreement attached to this bursary of one year in an RSA community in British Columbia for every year of bursary funding. Please note that Family Medicine Residents are not eligible to apply for this bursary.
The bursary application deadline for this fiscal year will be January 15, 2016.
Each successful applicant will be eligible for up to two years of bursary funding (at $25,000/annum) to a maximum of $50,000.
- Three bursaries will be offered in each fiscal year.
Residents or Rural Physicians are eligible to apply if they:
- are enrolled in a Canadian Specialty Residency program and are entering their final two years of residency;
- have been accepted to a specialty position by a hospital included in the RSA once they have completed their residency program.
- Bursary funding is only available while the recipient is pursuing a Specialty Residency Program.
