RDoC Seeks Family Medicine Resident Representative

Family Med Resident Needed!

Dear Family Medicine residents,

Resident Doctors of Canada is seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to bolster Family Medicine representation on the 2015-2016 RDoC Board of Directors.

About Resident Doctors of Canada:

Resident Doctors of Canada (formerly known as the Canadian Association of Internes and Residents or CAIR) is a vibrant national organization uniting, promoting and serving over 9, 000 resident doctors across Canada. Through its Board of Directors, Resident Doctors (or RDoC) provides a unique opportunity for you to represent the interests of residents across Canada and help shape the environment in which you work and train.

Desired experience can include:

  • Governance skills (previously served with other organizations as a board member or executive member, such as Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer, Committee Chair, etc.)
  • Management skills (previous experience in policy, advocacy, medical education, professionalism, communications, wellbeing)
  • Previous RDoC representation as a liaison representative or a Committee / Working Group member
  • Specific skills in finance, legal issues, strategic planning, human resources, leadership, IT

Any candidate for the Board must be an RDoC member in good standing. Please note that only residents training in Family Medicine will be considered for this position.

Obligations:

The RDoC Board of Directors will meet face to face on these dates:

Board of Directors Meetings in August 29-30, 2015, November 28-29, 2015, and March 5-6, 2016 (all in Ottawa) and June 11-12, 2016 (Winnipeg).

In addition, there will be Board teleconferences held or emails distributed between the face-to-face meetings to address key issues in a timely fashion. Board members are expected to attend all in-person and telecommunications-based Board meetings.

Board members are expected to serve on at least one RDoC Committee during their term.
