The BC Patient Safety & Quality Council is excited to launch the call for abstracts to present at their annual conference, Quality Forum 2018! This is a chance for people who are passionate about improving the quality of health care to share their big ideas, success stories and learnings with each other. They’re expecting over 1,200 people at this year’s event, which will be held February 21-23, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

They are accepting abstracts for presentations on ongoing or completed projects (Demonstrated Results) or promising big ideas in health care quality improvement (Novel Ideas). They’re a huge part of the conference – there’ll be spaces available for 63 oral rapid fire presentations and more than 100 storyboard posters! The deadline to submit presentation abstracts is September 8, 2017, and submission guidelines can be found here.

What to present? Submit an abstract on any topic related to providing better patient care in one of these two categories:

Demonstrated Results are projects that are underway or complete and have led to “how-to” tips and lessons that can be shared with participants. A project does not have to be considered a success – failures provide valuable learning opportunities too!

Novel Ideas include original thinking, promising practices or emerging ways of “how to improve care” that are too young to have results. You can seek input, inspire collaboration, and motivate action at an early stage.

How to present? You can propose to present your work through a rapid fire oral presentation and/or a storyboard poster display.

When to present? You can apply to present at the main two days of the Forum and/or the “Champions of Change” pre-Forum session.

Visit www.QualityForum.ca for the abstract submission form, scoring and selection criteria, and details about the presentation formats. Submit as many abstracts as you like and contact QualityForum@bcpsqc.ca or 604.668.8224 if you have any questions.
