Wellness Wednesdays – May 2023 Schedule

What is Wellness Wednesday?

A series of weekly workshops to encourage care for those who are caring for others. These one-hour virtual workshops are facilitated by LifeWorks and provide resources to support your well-being.

Register for these sessions through LearningHub. Shared service staff can register by emailing PeopleWellness@vch.ca.

Upcoming Wellness Wednesday sessions:

Overcoming Burnout Wednesday, May 3, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Learn to identify the symptoms of burnout and explore strategies for coping with and avoiding burnout.

Introduction to Mindfulness (Bonus session for MH Week) – Thursday, May 4, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Explore the basics of mindfulness including facts and myths, the neuroscience of mindfulness, benefits of mindfulness and be guided through some mindfulness activities.

Communication: The Art of Giving Feedback – Wednesday, May 10, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Gain a basic understanding of the importance of providing praise and constructive feedback at work and in personal relationships, the barriers to effective feedback, and foundational communication tools that can improve relationships and workplace productivity.

Effective Communication at Work Wednesday, May 17, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Examine key communication elements such as active listening and how to present messages in a way that is more compatible with the receiver’s style.

Thinking Traps Wednesday, May 24, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Explore complex views that define thoughts and action plans to overcome them.

Mindful Eating at Work Wednesday, May 31, 2023, noon – 1:00 p.m.
Discover mindful eating strategies that encourage a positive relationship with food, and that build healthy eating habits in the workplace and in their lives. (This session will not be recorded.)
