Voting in the Federal Election

The Canadian federal election period is currently in full swing. If you are working on voting day, you are legally eligible for three consecutive hours to vote. If you are working during your local polling station’s open hours, the employer is mandated to allow you to arrive late, to leave early, or to take time off during your work period to vote.

To see if you are eligible to vote, and how to vote in the federal election, visit Elections Canada. If you are unavailable on September 20 or prefer to vote prior to it, you are able to vote by mail by applying before September 14, attending one of the advance polling days, or voting at an Elections Canada office.
