Return of Paid Parking

The temporary free parking at hospitals across the province, which was introduced at the height of the pandemic to assist both healthcare workers and patients and their families, has concluded. Resident-provided information on site-specific services, including parking, can be found on our website. For any questions regarding parking at your site, please contact your Health Authority.

Wellness Resources

Are you familiar with wellness resources available to residents? From an actual wellness resource hub to counselling for yourself and your family, there are organizations where residents are able to access free resources. Doctors of BC Physician Health Program and VCH Employee and Family Assistance Program both offer counselling, a 24/7 hotline, and more. For a full list of organizations and resources for resident wellness, visit our website.

Leader Consultations and Incident Debriefs

Any “leader”, including Chief Residents, have access to to confidential 24/7 lines through their VCH Employee and Family Assistance Program benefits to speak with a counsellor who will listen and help manage a situation. To request a Leader Consultation, please call LifeWorks at 1-833-533-1577, press 1 for English or 2 for French, and then press 2. For Incident Debriefs, any resident is eligible to call, 24/7, if your team experiences prolonged or cumulative stress, a critical incident, or a traumatic event, and you believe group support is needed. To request a Debriefing, please call LifeWorks at 1-833-533-1577, press 1 for English or 2 for French, and then press 3.
