May Resident Wellness Month
Thank you to all our residents who participated in this year’s Resident Wellness Month. This year, we utilized both virtual and in-person events as well as four weeks of online contests to bring at least one event and a contest every week. We are happy to have been able to deliver a mix of activities which gave all our residents across the province a chance to participate. Congratulations to all the winners of the four grand prizes this month: Dr. Alaina Terpstra, Dr. Stephen Bennett, Dr. Daniel Shearer and Dr. Jasmine Bassi.
Resident Wellness Month – Gift Cards
All gift cards for residents who entered the weekly Resident Wellness Month contests have now been sent out. If you haven’t seen yours, please be sure to check your Junk folder. If you still don’t see them, please contact your email provider to ensure their security features aren’t preventing you from receiving the card(s). Thank you to everyone who participated!
Introducing “What I Wish I Knew”
Residency is a learning experience where the learning never stops, whether you’re a PGY-1 or a PGY-7. What I Wish I Knew is a monthly, themed program where residents are invited to submit anonymous tips to other residents, current and new, following that month’s theme. Residents will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card for their submissions, and the chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card at the end of every month. Visit our website for submission guidelines, to submit your tip, and view all the current submissions.
New Gift Card Option
We’re happy to introduce a new option for the rounds trivia gift card: a virtual gift card to Indigo! This card has replaced the Apple option.
CMA’s Summer Sessions
Join the Canadian Medical Association’s transition-to-practice summer sessions, where a faculty of practising physicians will expand on important topics about starting your practice. These free sessions cover a wide range of issues and provide extra time for discussions — a great way for resident physicians in all specialties to ask questions and prepare for practice. Explore the upcoming sessions for Western Canada.
