RDBC Awards of Excellence
The annual Resident Doctors of BC Awards of Excellence are HERE! Three awards are given each year to outstanding individuals in the field of medicine. Recipients receive an awards ceremony in their honour, commemoration on a wall plaque in the Resident Doctors of BC office, a personal commemorative award, and a $1000 donation to the charity/charities of their choice. If you have a co-resident or a medical educator in mind, why not submit a nomination?
UBC Alumni Addresses
UBC has now reduced support for UBC Alumni inboxes. This has created inconsistency with RDBC emails being successfully delivered to those addresses. If you continue to use your alumni address with RDBC, please change your email address as soon as possible. This can be done by logging in on the RDBC website and accessing your Profile. We kindly ask for assistance in passing on this message to your co-residents, to ensure it reaches those who use their UBC alumni address and may not be aware.

Cytotoxic/Hazardous Drugs
On February 14, 2022, VCH’s current cytotoxic drug list and related documentation will be replaced with this more comprehensive provincial hazardous drug list, in addition to the provincial exposure control program. The list classifies hazardous drugs into group 1 or group 2, based on the risk posed by the drugs, with each group consisting of different safety and handling requirements. Education is available on LearningHub to ensure you are aware of the changes, understand the risks associated with handling hazardous drugs and how to minimize workplace exposures. The most current information regarding these changes, including links to program documents, education, and resources are available on https://one.vch.ca/HazardousDrugs.
