COVID-19 Wellness Resources

We are continuing to regularly update our Wellness Resources page to help give you ideas on what is available during this time, from wellness support to activities for kids, workouts, food discounts, and more. Thank you to our Health & Wellness Committee for putting this list together, and to all the residents who’ve contacted us with their own resources!

May Wellness Month

Next week will mark the start of May, our annual Wellness Month. We’re looking forward to bringing you some great initiatives this year, with themed weeks you can participate in—including virtual tax clinics for the week of May 11- May 15. We’ll be sending out an email of all our May Wellness Month activities on May 1, so keep your eyes peeled!

Zoom Hangouts

Zoom Hangouts have been extended until May 15. We are offering 1.5 hour appointments to book through our Zoom account (don’t worry, we won’t be there!) during the week nights, and two hour slots during all day weekend. You can use this time to get together to just chat, play games, study, or watch movies—it’s up to you! Use our Calendly to book a time slot.

Happiness in Isolation Contest

There’s only a week left to enter our Happiness in Isolation contest! We want to know what brings you happiness during this time, and we want to give you a gift card to make the time pass by even better! Send us a photo and a blurb of what’s been bringing you some happiness during this time and receive a $5 Amazon gift card for your entry. We’ll be drawing names for a $50 Skip the Dishes gift card today at 2 PM! Contest info.

Cooking in Isolation: an RDBC Cookbook

Are there items sitting inside your pantry you don’t know what to do with, or leftovers from a recipe? Send a list of what’s in your kitchen to brandi@residentdoctorsbc.ca and have her email you back with an easy, healthy recipe! Help us further contribute to the Isolation Cookbook by sending us your simple recipes too, and let’s create a cookbook all residents can access during this time at home.

CFPC: Cancelled Exam Components

The College of Family Physicians of Canada has cancelled the 2020 SOO component of the Certification Examination in Family Medicine, and the oral component of the September 2020 Examination of Added Competence in Emergency Medicine. The SAMP components will continue, and the College is currently looking at methods for fall 2020. They are also looking into possible changes or potential refunds of exam fees. They will keep residents up to date regarding both the SAMP components and the exam fees when they have further information.

CalendarUpcoming Events

All RDBC events have been cancelled or moved to VC. We encourage everyone to remain at home.
