February 15 – 19, 2016

This week is Resident Awareness Week, and Resident Doctors of BC is committed to raising awareness of the role of residents in healthcare.

All of the projects are summarized below, and we encourage you to take advantage of this week to explain your role as a resident to everyone you meet.

Humans of Residency

Back for a second year, this campaign uses resident volunteers to highlight the human side of residency. Check out the complete series as it is released thought the week on social media, and our website.


Hospital Booths

Resident Doctors of BC will be holding awareness booths throughout the week at hospitals across the province.

February 15th:

  • St. Paul’s (4th floor cafe) 11 – 1

February 16th:

  • Kelowna General (Foyer) 11 – 1
  • VGH (JPP) 11 -1

February 17th:

  • Royal Columbian (Lobby) 11 – 1
  • Royal Jubilee (Patient Care Atrium) 2 – 3

February 19th

  • BC Children’s (Sahughnessy cafeteria) 11 – 1

Resident Doctors of BC has a new infographic that highlights a typical day for residents, highlighting the amount of time you put into your training. These will be handed out through out the week, and will be also be put up in various areas in hospitals and clinics.

Transit Ads

The above ad will be on skytrains in the Lower Mainland. It along with last year’s ad will also be on buses in Victoria and Prince George.


Members of the Advocacy Committee will be meeting with the NDP Caucus and MLA Linda Larson this week.

John Aldag Mp for Cloverdale will be making a statement in the House of Commons for Resident Awareness Week
