Sandra Banner Student Award for Leadership

CaRMS is now accepting submissions for the SBSAL. The purpose of these annual awards is to encourage the development of future leaders in medicine, through public recognition and financial support of undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees who have demonstrated interest in/aptitude for leadership. Past RDoC volunteers who have received an SBSAL include Dr. Kimberly Williams and Dr. Jesse Kancir.

Each award is accompanied by up to $3,000 in funding to support learners’ proposed leadership activities, e.g., leadership conferences (including registration, travel and accommodation), formal leadership education at an accredited educational institution, or for a leadership elective (with defined leadership development goals). The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2020. More details about the Award can be found here.

If you’re interesting in applying for the award and would like a letter of reference from RDoC, please contact them at  awards@residentdoctors.ca
