The Neurosciences programs (Adult and Pediatric Neurology, Neurosurgery) had their annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Party! Read below for their recap and photos—we love the bonus poem!
‘Twas a night in December at R&B Brewing,
Not a soul could object, to what was a-stirring.
For what better way to spend a damp, chilly night,
Than to join friends and colleagues for some evening delight.
Partaking were residents from the Neurosciences crew:
Adult and Pediatric Neurology, and Neurosurgery too.
Warmed by great company, cold drinks, and fine food,
The revelers were filled with a lighthearted mood.
One might wonder: How could this get any better?
You’d be bang-on, if you thought “ugly holiday sweater!”
The Neurology family, inspired by tradition,
Would confer tacky garb to each new addition.
Matching sweaters bestowed by mentor to peer,
As a gesture of welcome to Neurology first-year.
The R1s were delighted that their gaudy garb fit
What’s more, they were tackier than even grandma could knit!
Good fun was had by all who did partake.
From the rigors of residency, ‘twas a much-needed break.
Of course, without funding, impossible this would be.
Much gratitude is owed to the Resident Doctors of BC.
Another successful Neurosciences holiday party uniting the Adult Neurology, Pediatric Neurology, and Neurosurgery programs was made possible by generous support from the Resident Doctors of BC Social Fund. Honoring an annual tradition, the new R1s were welcomed to the Neurology family with lovely matching ugly holiday sweaters. Residents enjoyed the company of their colleagues, friends, and family in a festive and lively setting. We eagerly look forward to the festivities next year!
