The Transition Tuesdays Seminar Series is a one-hour series of seminars on topics such as incorporation, billing, tax and financial planning, etc. designed to assist medical residents transitioning into private medical practice. The seminars are presented by industry experts and a good portion of time is alloted for Q&As. Scheduled every first Tuesday of the month from 6:00 – 7:00 PM with light supper served beginning at 5:30 PM.
The seminars are also accessed via video-conference rooms at various specific sites; please check with your respective program administrators for room numbers.

Physician contracts and negotiations. While the majority of physicians in BC are compensated on a fee-for-service basis, at least 30% of Doctors of BC members receives some portion of their income through contracts or salaries (“alternative payments”). In part one of this presentation, Mr Brzezynski will describe the various types of alternative payments and some of the challenges faced in negotiating and working under such agreements.
Physician practice management. Anecdotal evidence suggests that today’s medical graduates feel under-informed about the business aspects of medicine. While establishing a medical practice is akin to starting a small business, new physicians don’t have to feel intimidated. In part two of this presentation, Mr Brzezynski will describe the basic aspects of medical practice management and what resources are available to assist individuals or groups as they grow their business.
