Resident Doctors of BC (RDBC) invites you to put your name forward for a position on the RDBC Council of Program Representatives (CoPR).
CoPR is comprised of one or two representatives from each program & site, and is responsible for bidirectional communication between the various residency programs and the RDBC Board of Directors. Every residency program has unique needs that can only be addressed if they are brought forward; this is your chance to make sure your colleagues have a voice.
CoPR meets three times a year, or additionally at the request of the chair. As a representative, you would be responsible for sharing information with your program colleagues from RDBC, and in turn relaying any issues or concerns to RDBC on their behalf.
We hope to establish a system of mutually beneficial information sharing in order to better understand and respond to the needs of the residents of BC. This will be very important as we begin preparing for upcoming resident contract negotiations.
COPR members are also encouraged (but not required) to participate on other internal committees and to engage in cross-program collaboration. For more information on the council please click here: residentdoctorsbc.ca/about/governance/council-of-program-representatives/
Nominations for these positions will be accepted from October 17th – October 31st; interested residents from each program are encouraged to put their name forward. If there are more nominees than positions, an online election will occur. Each program will vote on their own candidates, as needed.
If you are interested in becoming more involved in RDBC and in providing a representative voice for your program, we encourage you to complete the online nomination form. Please note that completed applications must be received by 12 PM (noon) on Tuesday October 31st, 2017.
