CoPR 2016-2017 Nominations

Dear Fellow Residents,

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to consider putting your name forward for a position on the Resident Doctors of BC Council of Program Representatives (CoPR).

CoPR is comprised of one to two representatives from each program, and is responsible for bidirectional communication between the various residency programs and the Board of Directors of Resident Doctors of BC. Each group of residents has unique needs that can only be addressed if they are brought forward; this is your chance to make sure your colleagues have a voice.

CoPR meets two to three times a year, or additionally at the request of the chair. As a representative, you would be responsible for sharing information with your colleagues from Resident Doctors of BC, and in turn relaying any issues or concerns to Resident Doctors of BC on their behalf. We hope to establish a system of mutually beneficial information sharing in order to better understand and respond to the needs of the residents of BC. This will be key as we continue begin working on our new three-year Strategic Plan. Council members are also encouraged (but not required) to participate on other internal committees and to engage in cross-program collaboration. For more information on the council please visit our website.

Nominations for these positions will be accepted from September 26th – October 10th; interested residents from each program are encouraged to put their name forward. If there are more nominees than positions, an online election will occur from October 11th – 18th. Each program will vote on their own candidates, as needed.

If you are interested in becoming more involved in your organization and in providing a representative voice for your program, I encourage you to complete the online nomination form. Please note that completed applications must be received by 12 PM (noon) on Monday, October 10th, 2016. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gagan Dhaliwal
Resident Doctors of BC Vice-President
2016-2017 Council of Program Representatives Chair
