18.02 – CMPA
Residents must have CMPA coverage, you must set it up and pay for it yourself, this is then reimbursed monthly on the same paycheque as your salary and call unless you are on leave; look for MembReimb
Should a situation arise that extends beyond individual CMPA coverage in a facility, you are covered by the Hospital’s indemnity insurance.
18.03 – Does this mean you can never do a blood draw or a cardiogram? No, it means it should not be the regular expectation of others that these are your responsibility. Once you have the skill if you choose to use it that is within your purview to decide, others should not be seeking you out or requiring you perform them as it takes valuable time from other training opportunities that are more allied with your future scope of practice.
18.04 – Parking
The employer is responsible to provide or reimburse for parking only when you are on home call and called back OR if you provide call at multiple sites on the same night
18.08 – UBC Registration
UBC charges well above the 20 dollars noted in the Collective Agreement. However, the current registration fee does not raise to the level of economic hardship in the eyes of some of the parties as a reflection of your total compensation.
