Premiums are paid by the employer for yourself and any dependants.
There is an annual deductible of 75 dollars. Annual for benefits is January to December, regardless of when you start residency. After you have spent $75 dollars on eligible expenses the benefit reimbursements (or direct billing) will begin. Deductibles for the resident can be applied to your annual health spending account.
There is no added cost to add a spouse or dependent. Residents and their spouse can coordinate their benefits. For example, where your plan provides for 80% of a cost, you can use your spouse’s plan for the remaining 20% of the cost. If you have dependants the spouse whose birthday is first in the year regardless of age is the primary (paying the 80%) and the other spouse provides the remainder.
