If you work on any part of the stat holiday including call or are on vacation, you are entitled to an alternate day off with pay. Make a reasonable effort to take it in the block that it is earned, but where this is not possible you have 12 months from earning it to take it.
Approval of lieu days cannot be unreasonably withheld.
If you work on a stat you are entitled to double your normal rate for the day (calculated as 7.5 hours), or 2.5 times your rate for the day for Good Friday, Christmas Day and Labour Day.
Stats are currently tracked in the RMS at UBC. If you worked a call on a stat make sure to file it on the RDBC call website as well for call payment, as you will be eligible for both stat pay for working on the stat and call pay for working the call shift.
Residents can trade Good Friday, Easter Monday or Christmas for dates of significance in their own recognized faith. These dates must be provided by July 15 to your program.
