I am writing to invite you to consider putting your name forward for a position on the Resident Doctors of BC Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors are elected annually by the membership, and members are encouraged to submit their nomination with the support of two additional members by noon on August 15, 2016.
An online election is then held based on the received nominations for the 11 available Board of Director positions. Voting is open August 17th – 24th, 2016.
The 2016-2017 Board will take office following Resident Doctors of BC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 at 18:00.
The Board roles are as follows:
- Immediate Past President
- Director of Communications
- Director of Finance
- Directors (7)
The executive positions, with the exception of Immediate Past President, are elected internally at the first Board Meeting, which will occur on September 14th, 2016 following the AGM. Attendance at the AGM and the Board Training Session (to be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2016, and followed by the Handover Dinner in the evening) is mandatory for all elected members.

If you would like to be more closely involved with your association, I encourage you to complete the online nomination form and submit it to Resident Doctors of BC by 12:00pm (noon) on Monday, August 15, 2016. Becoming a Resident Doctors of BC Board Member is an excellent opportunity to both learn and contribute to the improvement of residency training for both yourself and your resident colleagues.
