We are pleased to announce that a vote was held within the Board of Directors on September 7, 2019, for the new Resident Doctors of BC President and Directors. Please welcome Dr. Alana Fleet as the new Resident Doctors of BC President for the 2019-2020 year.
Alana is a third year resident in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. This is her second year as a RDBC Board Director, previously serving as the Board Chair of Resident Doctors of Canada. Prior to her move to Vancouver, she split her time between Kingston and Halifax, attending Queen’s for undergraduate and medical degrees, and Dalhousie for her Master’s. She is originally from Toronto and a Raptors fan since the Vince Carter era. You can catch her skiing in the mountains or tasting the latest foodie hot spot.
The structure of the Board of Directors has undergone changes this year, to allow for smoother operating both within the organization, and externally with stakeholders and the Ministry of Health. Please welcome Dr. Patrick McDonald (PGY-4, Psychiatry) as as the new Director of Operations & Finance, Dr. Naima Kotadia (PGY-2, Anesthesiology) as the new Director of Resident Affairs & Wellness, and Dr. Daphne Lu (PGY-2, General Surgery) as the new the Director of External & Labour Relations.
