Temporary Pandemic Pay Payout

Thank you to all our residents working hard to service the public during this pandemic. The Temporary Pandemic Pay (TPP) has now been distributed to eligible residents. This includes the additional TPP on eligible call shifts. If you have any questions about the TPP, please email allison.ho-rewcastle@vch.ca.

New Call Stipends System

The rollout for the new Call Stipends system has now been completed. The old Call Stipends website is no longer taking submissions. Please submit your calls here. For assistance using the new system, please visit our FAQ. If your question remains unanswered, email us at schedules@residentdoctorsbc.ca.

Working on Voting Day

If you are working on voting day (October 24, 2020), you are entitled to a four-hour free period to cast your vote. To ensure you can vote during the voting hours of 8am – 8pm, time off may be given at the start of your shift, in the middle, or at the end of it. For information on where to vote, visit Elections BC.

Resident Spotlight is Seeking Volunteers

We’re looking for volunteers interested in being interviewed, or suggestions of fellow residents who you think will make for a great feature. If you’ve got something you want to chat about, whether it be your experience in residency, a hobby or passion, or academic pursuits, send an email to sasha@residentdoctorsbc.ca to be featured in one of our Spotlights. All our interviews are conducted over email, giving residents enough time to fit it into their busy schedules.

RDoC National Resident Survey

Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) is seeking your opinions and experiences in the next edition of the National Resident Survey. They will be asking questions on the following topics: diversity in PGME, bullying in the training environment, mental health care, the COVID-19 pandemic and residency, physician mobility, the residency transfer process, and transition to practice and health human resources. The results of this survey will be used to help shape RDoC’s work in these and other important areas. You can expect to see the links to the English and French versions of the survey in an email from us (RDBC) on November 2, 2020. Please complete the survey by November 30, 2020. RDoC will be offering participants the chance to enter a random draw to win either an Amazon or Uber-eats gift cards worth $25 each. If you have any questions, you can email the team at nrs@residentdoctors.ca.
