BCCFP Family Medicine Resident Awards
Nominations for this year’s BC College of Family Physicians (BCCFP) resident awards are due by April 9.
There are two categories: the $5,000 BCCFP Resident Leadership Award for an R2 graduating from the UBC Family Practice Residency Program; and the $1,500 Dr. Manoo and Jean Gurjar Award, BCCFP Family Medicine Resident Scholarship, which is awarded to a male and a female resident in the UBC program.
Please submit your nomination online. (Note that each submission requires a nomination letter from either a family physician, a resident colleague or a student.)
UBC Medicine 13th Annual Art Show
The Art Show is organized by Arts in Medicine and is an exhibition of visual arts by members of UBC’s medical community, held annually at the Medical Student and Alumni Centre (MSAC). They are currently accepting resident submissions! All pieces of visual art are welcomed.
UBC Medicine Resident Research Grants
The UBC Faculty of Medicine awards two Resident Research Grants each year – one for family practice residents and the other for specialty residents. The grants are specifically for residents in BC who are working on research projects related to education/CPD. Deadline for submissions is April 25, 2018. More info.
Rural Locum Forum
The Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues (JSC) of Doctors of Canada is pleased to announce funding for physicians who are providing – or considering to provide – locum services in rural BC communities to attend the Rural Locum Forum to be held in Nanaimo on May 11, 2018.
